The Fund for Women in Asia, Chen Qiulin, and Max Protetch Gallery
invite you to a discussion of the role of women artists
in China by Chen Quilin at an exhibition of her artwork.

Chen Qiulin is a young Chinese artist whose performances,
photographs, and videos incorporate sculptural elements in a
dramatic, intuitive approach to the changing Chinese landscape.
Characters dress in traditional theatrical costumes
while interacting in post-industrial spaces, both outdoors and
indoors, among steel, rubble, rivers, and factories. The results
re-imagine the forces that are transforming modern China:
personalized, local, mythic, and grand all at once.

The Fund for Women in Asia is a U.S. non profit organization (501c3)
that supports women in Asia. We believe women in Asia understand their
needs and wants, and we aim to allow Asian women's funds to achieve their goals efficiently.
We plan to establish a web-based network connecting local organizations
to each other and to international resources. See www.fundwomenasia.org
