FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 3
7:30 PM Byron Kim, who uses color as signifier and metaphor, was first introduced in the Whitney Biennial of 1993. His traveling mid-career retrospective will appear at the Henry Art Gallery (Seattle) later this year.

8:30 PM Matthew Weinstein, has a new solo show at Sonnabend Gallery, New York, and installed his sand mandala Frisbee at the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich, Germany.

7:30 PM Hiroshi Sunairi, his recent installation at the Hiroshima City Museum of Contemporary Art commemorates the 60th
anniversary of the atomic bombing.

7:30 PM Julian LaVerdiere (Tribute in Light, 2001), shows with Lehmann Maupin, New York.

8:30 PM Andrew Guenther, painter and multimedia artist exhibits with Perry Rubenstein, New York. His fascination with the grotesque marries well with the Boschian imagery of the visions of a Himalayan purgatory.

7:30 PM Rina Banerjee, mixed-media and installation artist who exhibits with Newman Popiashvili Gallery, New York, and is included in the Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennial in Japan later this year.

8:30 PM Noritoshi Hirakawa, conceptual media artist whose works explore sexuality, taboo and politics. He shows with Deitch Projects in New York and will be doing a special installation for their booth at the Armory Show.

7:30 PM Baiju Parthan, a leading figure from India’s KAAM (Baroda, Bombay) generation of artists with a current exhibition at Gallery Arts India, New York.

8:30 PM Julian LaVerdiere (Tribute in Light for Creative Time, 2001), shows with Lehmann Maupin, New York.

7:30 PM Yi Chen, an emerging painter whose hotly-anticipated debut show with Marianne Boesky, New York, opens March 16. He explores changing human form in the age of cosmetic surgery.

8:30 PM Yuki Kimura, conceptual photographer and media artist who shows with Kodama Gallery, Osaka, and Taka Ishii, Tokyo, in Japan.

FRIDAY, MARCH 31
7:30 PM Min Kim, mixed-media artist whose follow-up to a wildly succesful debut show at ATM Gallery, New York, opens on March 24. Included in 2005’s “Greater New York,” her works combine aspects of fashion, camouflage and collage.

7:30 PM Tomoko Sawada, Osaka-based photographer who explores identity and social/institutional pressures to confirm. Represented by Zabriskie Gallery, New York City and MEM, Inc., Osaka.

7:30 PM Momus, Berlin-based performance and recording artist appearing in this year’s Whitney Biennial as The Unreliable Tour Guide. Has exhibited at Zach Feuer Gallery, New York and has his own blog "Click Opera."

7:30 PM The 62, Brooklyn-based collective combining design, agricultural experimentation, fashion, politics and fun. Recently featured at the Scope Art Fair, New York.

7:30 PM Mithu Sen, a young, Indian artist whose drawings, paintings and installations disrupt the boundaries between sexual fantasy and everyday life.

FRIDAY, MAY 5
7:30 PM Paul D. Miller aka DJ Spooky That Subliminal Kid, writer, new media and sound artist who has worked with musicians ranging from Metallica to Chuck D of Public Enemy as well as Sonic Youth. Tonight’s tour will include a reading from his book Rhythm Science (MIT).

FRIDAY, MAY 12
7:30 PM Ellie Ga, David Adamo and Jenny Vogel lead a Micro-Explorer's Club expedition through the museum galleries. Ellie Ga is currently artist-in-residence at the venerable Explorer’s Club, New York.

8:30 PM Guy Ben-Ner, represented Israel at the Venice Biennale in 2005 and known for ingenious video adaptations of classic adventure literature. His Treehouse Kit from Venice is currently on view at Postmasters, New York.

FRIDAY, MAY 19
7:30 PM Lisha Bai, explores space and dimensionality through mixed-media paintings and installations. She has exhibited at Yale University, Musée d’Art Américain, Giverny, and Josée Bienvenue Gallery, New York.

FRIDAY, MAY 26
Asian Contemporary Art Week (ACAW). New York’s premier celebration of Asian contemporary art, ACAW hits the Rubin with a special night of video screenings and tours by Shahzia Sikander, Visible Collective / Naeem Mohaiemen and Shin-il Kim.
